The length of therapy is very individual. Some clients come in with very specific concerns and goals and move through a brief course of treatment; 8 to 10 sessions.
Other clients needs are more complex and therapy can span several months or more.
Some clients find they come in for a course of therapy, complete their work, go on just fine, and then after awhile return for another course of therapy. Sometimes returns to therapy may seem like set-backs, but often this indicates an evolution in personal growth and development.
Often we'll start meeting weekly, then after your goals are set and you're making some progress, we'll meet every other week or less.
You'll end your course of therapy when you've reached your goals, you're ready to move on, or some other form of therapy becomes more appropriate for your needs.
